Florida 2019 - Tell Me This Isn't The Last Time - Day 20 - Epcot
The index is here.
Thursday 15th August 2019 The plan today was to chill out in the morning, go to Epcot in the afternoon as we had 3 FPs booked (Mission Space, Spaceship Earth and Soarin), have dinner at Via Napoli and watch Illuminations. This ended up being another off-plan day We decided to cancel Via Napoli earlier in the week as we saw Illuminations a couple of times; so, the plan was to go to Epcot and then grab takeaway on the way home. We had a nice chilled morning where DDs swam and I think I caught up on some TV (I normally find a show which isn’t on in the UK and binge watch it). Lunchtime was spent at what seems to be our favourite restaurant. We were hungry so we took the opportunity to fill up on salad and bread. We went for the “smaller” option and had the lunch menu. I had the spaghetti with meat sauce, DW had creamy mushroom ravioli, DD1 had chicken parmigiana and DD2 had spaghetti with marinara sauce. We had 3 Coke Zeros and 1 water for drinks. The food as always was very good; the cost was $58.08 (£48.07). We then headed off to Epcot in the beautiful sunshine but as we got to closer, the more overcast it became and the greyer it was. Spots of rain started so we took cover in Spaceship Earth; literally 30 seconds after taking cover, the following happened I have a great video of the pushchair doing its own dance in the rain being pushed left and right by the wind By the time we finished Spaceship Earth, it had stopped raining so we headed off to Figment; we weren’t planning on going there but as it’s due to close soon, we thought we should. At least one of us looked happy to be going there (DD2 ) DD2 carried on with her pin collections and bought figment £10.60; we then headed towards Nemo but it started pouring down again….it was really funny with the four of us running across the park to Nemo. Nemo is a great ride especially when it’s raining outside; we had a look around the aquarium which was, for the obvious reasons, slightly busier than normal. One of the things DW likes to do, is to get the same photo each time we go; one of these is in the aquarium, so now we have three. Although looking at them, it seems each time DDs get further apart Next was Turtle Talk with Crush, we’ve never been on it and it was very good. After that one final ride on Spaceship Earth as it will be renovated by the next time we come back after note COVID-19 has put a stop on the renovation!. There’s always time to show just what a good-looking family we are We were unsure what to do next but the ride times for Test Track and Soarin were very long, so we decided to have a walk around the world. We hadn’t had a funnel cake all holiday, so stopped at America and grabbed one. We called in most of the countries and had a look around the shops, just in case we missed anything in the 30 previous visits on this holiday , it seems we did as DD1 picked up a note pad in Japan. We got some gifts in Mouse Gear and then picked up some Will Gay prints in the art shop. We made our way to the exit for some final photo pass photos; us having a last think with Figment and then glad to see I lost weight on this holiday rather than piling it on as I thought Then that was it, we headed to the car and said a “see you real soon” to Epcot and look forward to all of the changes which will greet us when we next visit. We stopped at Berry City on the way home for a Chinese take away at Bamboo Wok and picked up some beer and wine at Publix, then back to the villa. Day 21 can be found here Edited at 04:51 PM. |

One portion of Sesame chicken substituting fried rice for the boiled rice at around $17 is enough for both of us.
Maybe next April Mick
