Afraid not for us if things don’t improve considerably.

Cancelled 2 trips this year and whilst we’ve missed it I would view going away to be unwise (in our case). We’ve dramatically reduced our socialising (wasn’t hectic but now pretty much zero) & tried to reduce our exposure to the virus as much as we can. We both still work, albeit my wife from home but we pretty much follow all the governments advice.

We’re prepared for a year or two’s ‘hardship’ for the long term. We’re early 50’s, keep in shape, kids left home & with reasonable income so I’d hope we get many more opportunities to get across.

For those who are going, great stuff & have a fab time.

Definitely having a wobble about next October, we rescheduled from August this year hoping everything would be back to normal, but don’t think it will be. The news today about the shows is dire, terrible for the people laid off.

We’re not intending on going back till 2022, but if we were going next year then if there are no fireworks, character meets, no shows, then we will be giving Disney a wide berth. Too much uncertainty for us especially when charging full price. Universal and Sea World are different as we go purely for the rides, but if we’re going to Disney I want the full experience. We’ve already cancelled august 2020, Feb 2021, August 21, we will be waiting till the time is right for us to go back. Disney will always be there. We would go to Florida though, spending 2 weeks visiting universal and having days out that we haven’t got round to doing yet.

we missed this Aug, so have booked for next Aug

Now we discussed this on the way home from the beach today , would we enjoy a " disney lite experience ", Hell Yes, a disney lite experience is better than no disney experience

we have also paid Ł1440 for our flights, we have DVC and MVC, so rooms paid for, will need WDW tickets, so in reality we are paying " disney lite money " with our cheap flights

lets get it going

This December would have been a "once at Christmas" trip, our 8 year-old's first trip to the US, and our first trip to Orlando for over 10 years. So we aren't regulars missing this year's trip.
We will be pushing back until the parades, fireworks, character meets and bells and whistles, and onsite perks are back.
This year would have been ideal as our son still believes in magic. Next year he might not, and I'd say certainly not the following year. So we'll plan a different sort of trip for a couple of years - hell definitely be big enough for all the big Universal rides, and probably won't want to meet princesses.

So no, I won't start planning again until either things are back to the old normal or we have a clear idea as to what a post-Covid Orlando holiday looks like.

We went in late February - early March this year. Had a great time in parks and other areas.

We got back to the UK just as things were starting to look serious re: Covid-19.

Having been 9 times in the past 20 years, we will be planning another trip AFTER this has subsided. That maybe 3 years or more into the future but it will happen.

Until then, we are quite happy to do other things closer to home. Not going to put others or ourselves at risk for what is optional in our lives.

Best wishes to all,

Pjmendip

No way. A Disney trip should be as magical as possible not wearing masks, no fireworks, reduced park hours ect.

For a company hurting financially a priced trip in November next year is more expensive than my cancelled October trip this year and I lost free ddp and magic bands. Hardly an massive draw to go back.

We will keep saving and do a 3 week post vaccine trip. If that’s staying on site is a different matter

All booked for September 21. Villa was booked pre covid, tickets booked and flights. We are staying optimistic that it will go ahead then.
It will be a different experience to what we are used to, but in years to come we will talk about the the time we went to disney and had to wear a face mask due to covid 19.
If we are allowed to fly we will be on that plane! 😀
