Downtown Disney - Best time to go

Hi All,

Hearing the horror stories about the current situation at Downtown Disney. We are hoping to go for a few hours to have a look at the shops, go up in the balloon and have a sandwich at EOS.

Is there a best time to go? When is it quietest to get parked? Best day?

In April (this was after Easter though) we went in the afternoon, around 2 to 3 o'clock. No problem getting parked up in the big new garage. We avoided the weekends and late evening arrivals. The traffic was sometimes a bit slow getting out but other than that we didn't really have a problem.

Great thanks, I guessed weekends would be a nightmare. We'll probably aim to get there for 10am and away for 2ish. Thanks for replying

We always try to go in the morning as it does seem to pick up late afternoon as it's quite a good night spot

We really like going early morning more or less when it opens as it's really quiet.

We usually get there for opening, as others have said it's pretty quiet then!

Traffic was crazy tonight but it is Memorial Day weekend. We went up to go to the movies to see Tomorrowland. A normal pre road works trip takes less then 15 minutes for us. Tonight it took us almost 2hrs!

Would advise an evening to see it at its best. It is very busy at the moment but the multi storey car park always has space. You will get parked it is really just the traffic that is pain.

Weekends are worse as you also get the locals making it even busier.

Ferrari was out again tonight posing for photos with guests quite the celeb these days.

I usually go to Florida in Nov so it gets dark by 6pm. I like to get to DTD about 3pm, have a wander and spend an hour at Ghiradelli's with an ice cream sundae, people-watching and catching up on my I pad. By then it's getting dark and the place takes on a different atmosphere. A bit of shopping, another wander and then some dinner. I leave about 8pm.

It's easy as I stay in a hotel opposite so it's just a 5 min walk away.
