So turns out, as an early adopter, my box doesn't support HDR...

Wonder if they will try charging for the new hardware. As you don't own the SkyQ box and only rent it I would hope they don't try that. Even just an installation fee would be a cheek given most could do this themselves.

Considering COVID 19 brought self install of upgraded Q boxes in certain cases I’d think your fears are unfounded.
(Some people look for trouble where none exists lol)

Good to hear that they have been allowing it. Our neighbour wasn't granted such an option and has been told they have to wait. I will tell them to try again.

Not a case of looking for trouble, just using historical trends to predict the future. Until the leapard changes its spots on a consistent basis you take it as it has been.

They could already be managing customer expectations, but aren't.
