It’s totally understandable to be as worried as you are after what you have been through. I don’t have any experience in x rays or anything but just wanted to send my support. Take care, sending good vibes by the ton for a quick scan appointment and good results x

I think your reaction is perfectly normal. We can all say don’t worry but for you that’s not easy to do as this is the situation you’re in.

I have everything crossed for you and hopefully it will all come to nothing.

Lung shadows on x-rays can be anything from fluid/pneumonia, to clot, cysts, patients gowns/bed sheets scrumpled up behind them, incorrect posture... all sorts. I even saw one that had a cap from a cannula stuck in the poor guys back. *not medical advice just stating things that are on google/personal things I have seen on xrays and answering the question asked*

Now, I’m laid on my sofa after just getting home from my 3rd EC chemo for breast CA. I’m not going to tell you to stop stressing or to ignore it because Scanxiety is so real and I’m so sorry you’re going through it again. But, what I will say, is that I hope it turns out to be something else to what you are thinking and that it’s all just good precaution. You have a ton of pixie dust from me xxxx

Yes when I had the CT scan for my ovarian tumour they informed me they had seen something on my lungs and although they were not concerned and asked the radiologist to double check , they said it would be followed up. Which it was with a second CT and I was given an all clear. They did say that infections can show up on the lungs as can scarring so not every shadow they see is as sinister as we all fear. Thinking of you and will be keeping everything crossed it is all good xxx

Nicksgirl, I don’t have any experience but totally get the “scanxiety” you are feeling, sending you into meltdown. Sending you a huge hug and pixie dust. And will keep everything crossed.

Thank you all so much, your caring has made me cry again.
Still in bed mopping, but hubby is looking after me wonderfully. Hopefully today has just been the shock of it all.

Sending you lots of hugs 💖 as a nurse if I had a pound for every xray/scan that came back fudged I would be so rich 😊 also there's no way your consultant would tell you its nothing if he wasn't 100%sure.

I hope that's gave you some comfort sorry I couldn't be of more help.
