Universal has a different policy, as stated in an earlier post

3 parks ticket = 3 parks AP, wether you have visited Volcano Bay or not
This is policy. Of course you might find a team member who will allow for a 3 parks ticket upgrade to a 2 parks AP, but that's a different story
I have an email from universal saying you can upgrade from a 3 park 14 day ticket to an annual 2park AP

Here is the content

Thank you for contacting Universal Orlando Resort Guest Services.

I am happy to see you will be visiting Universal Orlando Resort soon, and are interested in upgrading to an Annual Pass. You are able to upgrade a valid admission ticket to an Annual Pass at any time during your visit. However, as you have purchased a 3-Park Explorer Ticket, if you utilize the Universal Volcano Bay portion of your ticket you will be required to upgrade you ticket to a 3-Park Annual Pass. Additionally, if you are visiting during a time of the year our Seasonal Annual Pass is blocked out you will have to upgrade your ticket to an Annual Pass that offers the dates that you visited. The value of your ticket, not necessarily the amount you have paid, will be applied toward your upgrade. Ticket upgrades must be completed before the end of the day on the final day the ticket is used. Additionally, tickets cannot be upgraded for use by another person or for use during a separately ticketed event, such as Halloween Horror Nights or Rock the Universe.

What’s the current price to upgrade from a 3 day pass to 3 day annual pass? (The cheapest) We actually upgraded from a 3 day to a 2 day season pass for $5 two years ago, as we were leaving volcano bay.
It looks like they don’t let you do that anymore so am wandering if it’s worth getting the 3 day pass to start With if the upgrade is a lot more? I can live without Volcano bay if it’s a big difference.

Do you mean a 3 park pass not a 3 day pass? If so read on

The upgrade to the cheapest AP is
the seasonal 3 park AP at around £325 at the current exchange rate inc tax
They will value your 3 park 14 day tickets around the £285 mark so around £40 to pay.
Might be worth getting one seasonal pass and one preferred pass to allow free parking which is currently around the £20 per day and also discounts on food and merchandise

Also check the blackout dates dont coincide with your holidays

Prices plus florida tax

You can also spread the cost of the tickets by paying half upfront and remainder over 11 months for the power plus, preferred and premier pass tickets

Yes I did! Arrived back from Barbados yesterday, so was very jet lagged last night!
Thanks for the info.

Thank you op for this thread, now got me thinking😉 if we upgraded on the last day of our holiday when would the annual pass run from?

The day we activated our 14 day tickets or the day we upgraded?

As we tend to go the same time each year it would only be worth upgrading if it was the upgrading date !

If I remember correctly from last year, the annual pass expires the day before you used your 3 park ticket for the first time, not the day you upgraded.

In that case take the flex option and pay over 11 months.
You can then continue to pay monthly and visit universal until you cancel giving a months notice by email.

So it would only cost you a months fee per ticket to extend for your second visit.

Flex play is not available on seasonal pass but all the others can be

Otherwise passes expire the day before the activation a year on as stated above
