Question So...how good is Volcano Bay?

Hey there guys ...as we're still debating US/IOA for our upcoming trip, I was just wondering what folks experiences have been of Volcano Bay? We're currently toying with the idea of the 2/3day 2 park base ticket ya see and were wondering if we should also consider the 3 day 3 park base ticket.
We're already gonna be doing TL and BB so won't be missing out on the whole waterpark experience if we decide to give VB a miss but would we be missing a fantastically unique new waterpark adventure or is it just meh?!
Any help greatly appreciated, thank you

It's fab. May be more like a theme park than water park if that makes sense, as the slides are more like rides, with one just like a roller coaster. There are lots and lots to try, and lots where the whole family can ride at once.

Special thumbs up for the raging rapids lazy river. It's super fast and fun.

Get there early and you can ride for hours non stop. It gets busier in the afternoon when the wait times increase and you have to use the virtual queue. But by that time you should have tried the majority so you'll know what you like the best, so can use the virtual queue accordingly.

It's amazing, we went last August and although it had been extremely busy we decided to go on a day when it had been raining... got there at 3.00pm and it was so quiet! The sun came back out and we stayed til closing
at 7.00pm and managed to ride everything😀

We really enjoyed it as well not the biggest park but really well designed and great slides . We have annual passes for universal and upgraded to 3 park tickets. Can’t wait until the next trip in December 🎄😬

We really liked it. I loved the (not so) lazy river, went round for about an hour - lol 😊

My kids were disappointed because we could hardly get on anything. We rode about 3-4 rides in a whole day. Other rides were even down or hours of wait.
It was last July so it might have calmed down now.

We got it as a freebie 3 for 2. Not overly impressed went over the Easter holiday. The park was rammed far too many people in such a small area. Wait times were over 2 hours for everything. Lockers $16 ($10 in IofA) Food and drink overpriced $15 burger and fries. All seating is on sand. Best part where the changing facilities, very well kept. Tip the only way to get to Volcano Bay is by bus from onsite hotel, transportation hub or garages. Onsite guests get priority and they are building 2 more hotels next year and Saffire hotel opens this autumn. That a lot of guests to accommodate in the parks over the next 2 years.

Great slides but too small for visitor numbers. Food way over priced and locker hire is a whopping $16!

Thanks so much for all the replies guys! Sounds like it's defo worth a visit, however we'll defo need to do it early on in our hols by the sound of it as it gets so busy going into our second/third week in October. We only got on 3 rides in an entire day at US on our last trip so don't want a repeat of that torture anytime soon
