Preferred viewing for fireworks

Eventually got through today after another long wait managed to get preferred viewing for IllumiNations for
out chosen date but couldnt get Wishes for 3 July Managed to get it for 9th though - that's the day we move from OKW to the villa. We have a TRex ADR for 7pm so should make it as Wishes is on at 10pm that night.

Does anyone know what happens if you don't show up for your preferred viewing? Do you get charged?

No charge , last year I reserved wishes for 6 people but 4 people didn't come as they were poorly/tired. I just explained this at the entrance and it was fine.
Also we reserved illuminations but there was a mix up and we didn't know where to go. Ended up being allowed into an enclosure where our names weren't down on the list, but this would have meant somewhere our names were on the list but in effect we didn't show. We were not charged.

Can you please tell me where the current preferred viewing areas are for illuminations and Wishes please. Thank you

Illuminations I was told is at Morocco.

The lady on the telephone said that the area for Wishes is at the bottom of main st "near to the hot dog stand"

Wishes is from Swan's Landing where they do the weddings. It is immediately below the terrace where they do the dessert party.

Illuminations all depends on which area you are allocated to. This is the problem we had last year as we didn't have any paperwork with us so I asked a cm who told us to go to rose and crown area, meanwhile dh asked another cm, as we were in different parts of the park at that point, who told us to go elsewhere.
We then asked a third cm who said to go somewhere else so we were baffled, went to the one at Morocco (I think) and were told our names were not on the list. By this time we were fed up and I was more than a bit emotional and I think the cm could see I was on the brink so as they had room let us in!
When I booked this year I asked on the phone exactly where it was, I was told that in the disney pack you receive before you go there will be vouchers which give the details of the viewing areas. They have a few different areas so she couldn't tell me there and then which one I would be allocated to.

I have phoned twice and spoken to 2 different people but neither knew anything about it. The second person did say it was a perk but stops in March and we would have to use FP+ instead. Note sure whether to try 3rd time lucky!

When I phoned on the 0800 number earlier this week I think it was option 3 that was specifically for fireworks bookings. Did you go through this option or were you on the general ADR booking one?
I had no problems, they knew immediately what I was talking about. They checked that I was staying in a disney hotel etc and then booked for me and gave me a reference number for both (similar to the ADR ref numbers).
It is worth persevering as we did this last year and IMO it's worth it.
