Anthem Of The Seas - British Isles Mini Cruise - Day 6 - A hangover, Northstar and Family Time
Today started with a minor headache. Sally was up before me and it the weather was lovely and clear again. At 06:59 I was still recovering. Fortunately for me the kids were too! With headache tablets consumed we were still at breakfast for shortly after 07:30. The camera stayed tucked away this morning! It was the normal relaxed breakfast in Coastal Kitchen. We mainly had a mooch around today and were led by the kids. We had a 12:00 Reservation for Northstar. Again, this was something Benjamin was big enough for so I had booked the extended version prior to sailing. Through the morning we had some chill time and were lucky enough to watch the dolphins playing in the wake on a number of occasions. I enjoyed the Northstar. It was a bit of a novelty for a cruise ship. They did have a TV screen in there and I thought I had read they is a little video they play on the Northstar and the ship but there was nothing like that. It was just a ride that lasted about 5 mins. I'm glad we did it but I don't think I would bother again. We had a mooch around and watched some more dolphins. Sally is pretty sure she saw a whale in a little further out blowing water out. Unfortunately I missed it and she was not quick enough to get a photo. There was another go on the bumper cars for Emma and a few more games of Air Hockey for both the kids. The kids decision for lunch was room service back in the room. They enjoyed the chill time in the stateroom. Sally and I had the Royal burgers and some wings. We went for the sticky BBQ wings and we preferred these to the hot wings we had previously. I'm pretty sure I had a cheesecake to finish it off We saw some more dolphins from the balcony. I popped down to the casino for half ours or so. I lost $100 of my winnings for the night before so finished a grand total of $25 up. I never do well in a casino when I'm sober About 18:00 we headed up for our last evening meal at Coastal Kitchen. There doesn't appear to be anywhere near as many pictures of us today. I think there was a slight haze hanging over us. I had the French onion soup tonight whilst Sally and the shrimp cocktail. We had our one alcoholic drink of the day each with dinner with a glass of Kim Crawford each. These were washed down with a healthy supply of water. For entree Sally and I both had the lamb. With some sides Both of us took part in dessert as usual which were lovely. We also asked whether Coastal Kitchen was open for breakfast on the final morning. It was and you had to prebook at time. The only time slots left were 06:30 and 06:45 so we booked for 06:45. The kids wanted to go to the arcade for a look which we were more than happy with. Unfortunately the reviews I'd read prior to cruising were correct. Some of the machines were switched off for social distancing and these were really the only one that Emma and Benjamin would have enjoyed playing. We did have some last games of Air hockey. Sally beat me which was a bit disappointing. We had to play again so I could get my own back. The kids decided they wanted to chill our in the room for the latter part of the evening so we went with that and played some board games with the kids back in the room. It was lovely to enjoy our last evening together on what was a little holiday that felt a long time in coming. During the evening we packed up our cases and attached the supplied luggage tags and put them all outside our room prior to 23:00. There was the option to carry them off ourselves but there was no rush in the morning. It's not like we had an airport to get to like we usually would. During the evening we popped down to deck 5 and sorted out our photos from the package we pre-ordered. This was relatively quick and easy and I managed to download them all onto my phone and an email with them all attached followed the day after we got home. Our drinks package for today cost us £89.76. If we'd bought out of pocket they would have cost about £18... I feel ripped off
