Hurricane hits Northern France

Storm Aurora with sustained winds of 150km ph (90+ mph), hit The Northern France region of Normandy starting 20th October and into 21st October.

During that period severe flooding was experienced in Southern England together with high winds.

Much devastation was caused in France with trees uprooted and much structural damage.

Unlike a Caribbean Hurricane, I saw no UK news reports of this event and the devastation caused in Northern France.

Did I miss it, or is this not a newsworthy story?

H

We were in Jersey that night and they also had the storm, it was around 70-80 and our hotel (directly on the seafront) sustained some damage outside, at one stage we thought our hotel room windows were going to blow in as they were shaking quite violently, the rain came through a tiny crack into the room and the carpet by the window was drenched. We were told at breakfast the next morning of lots of debris etc.

We were on board Sky Princess returning to the UK and it was a rough night!

No idea why we don't hear anything about it over here.
