Touring plans room request worth subscription?
Just wondered if anyone else had used touring plans for a room request and if they thought it was worth the subscription fee?

TP has other things like useful info, good busy analysis and dining adr watches but I wouldnt do it just for room requests |

Ive just got back and neither of my room requests were honoured. The rooms I was allocated were not even near. I subscribe to touring plans for the busy day guides etc. I wouldn't subscribe just for the room requests.

My room request didn't work last year - a totally different building and floor to what I'd requested. When I mentioned it to the CM when I checked in he didn't know what I was talking about.

I have used it for the last 3 trips, I pick a room in the category I have booked and list my top 3 requirements in order of importance I.e for our last trip to the wilderness lodge I requested room 6046 and-
Open balcony High floor No connecting door And I received room 6044 and all requests met! In 2017 at the beach club I rescued a room 2doors away from what i requested but it had a connecting door, in 2016 the room met all my requests but was in a different section of the hotel to what I had originally chosen. I do find touring plans info useful and have just joined the universal orlando section for planning for next year!

OP - they're hit and miss. Some people have got the exact room or close by, and other, like Andybear, haven't got what they requested. I believe doing online check in can throw a request out too as that supersedes a request from a third party. I love Touring Plans as a planning tool, but wouldn't subscribe just for that function. Don't forget that if you aren't happy with the room you're assigned, you can always ask for it to be changed, but that's obviously subject to availability
