Bringing everything home.

Sorry for the silly question just curious how everyone gets stuff home safe.

1. Chocolate and sweets. If check out of villa is at 10/11am and flight home is 6pm what do you do with it? If left in the car it will be ruined.

2. Souvineer mugs. In the hold or hand luggage. Which is better?

We put chocolate and sweets in the cases - only had a problem once when we ended up with a giant Milk Dud, as they melted, then stuck together! Mugs, glasses etc. we take in our hand luggage. 😀

Keep the chocolate in the fridge as long as possible then put it in the middle of the case I’ve had success in the past

We wrap chocolate/sweets in corrugated paper and then pack it in the middle of our case.

We take the corrugated paper with us as it helps to fill around the edges of our case within a case.

I’ve never had a problem with chocolates melting, so can’t help there, but with mugs/glasses i tend to roll them up in my husbands t-shirts

Anything breakable goes in hand luggage. Chocolate is left in the fridge till last min then goes in the middle of the cases.

Chocolate in the fridge until the last minute then in a thermal bag containing cheap bag of frozen veg and put in the middle of case. Works a treat!
ETA
Wrap chocolate in newspaper.

All our mugs get wrapped in clothing such as t-shirts , remember to put something inside the mugs too such as socks or underwear. Touch wood, never broken a mug yet and we buy 3 or 4 (or more) each every trip.

We now take a large plastic lunch box in the case, thanks to a previous Dibb tip. We put shampoo and stuff in it on the way out then our most breakable purchases on the way back. Just gives a bit more protection.

We’ve got insulted freezer bags and gel packs that stuff goes in for the way home
Dollar tree do them if on the way out luggage weight is an issue
Only once had a disaster with a delay of 6 hours with our luggage sat on the tarmac at MCO then 4 hours at Atlanta due to thunder storms luggge arrived 2 days after us back home
