Why are next years flighs to MCO so much more expensive?

Pricing up and comparing flights for next Easter holidays and there is a 2k price difference for 4 of us if we was to book Florida .

Florida 2k dearer than cancun flights same class and dates .

Anyone with any know how know why this could be ?

It’s mental ! The cancun flights were slightly more than last year but Florida is ridiculous.

I also checked VHfor Easter 2023 as you can book trips now for 2023 and they want £8000+ for 4 of us in economy 😂

We actually won’t be going till Easter 2023 so hope they do come down but looking at 2022 to compare I can’t see that will happen .

Crazy times for flight prices .

Look at flying to Tampa (or another regional) instead of Orlando, or an indirect, could saves thousands.

Florida (specifically MCO) has always been more expensive in peak family travel times because it's more popular than other destinations. Especially if you are wanting to fly on weekends. Simple supply and demand. But worse next year due to pent up demand and airlines wanting to recoup losses.

If you want direct flights but are happy to drive, maybe price up flying into TPA or MIA instead. I just did a quick price check on BA's fare finder for 14 nights on 2nd April and it was £1600 to fly into MCO but only £900 into MIA or £1100 to TPA. Drops even further if you're prepared to fly out on the Sunday or Monday instead of Saturday.

Please could you tell me where you are seeing VA flights for Easter 2023 as I thought you could only book flights with VA 11 months ahead? I've looked on VA website and latest I can find is 1.8.22, so are you looking through a 3rd party?

Thanks

Virgin Holidays are selling 2023 trips already so perhaps that is what yogadeb was looking at.

Next Easters flights are already very busy particularly at the weekends around the school holidays as they have been on sale for some considerable time. Aslo passengers with vouchers/open tickets or the ability to change a cancelled trip have been using these dates and some have got a real bargain as they may have paid a lot less for the original flights and had them moved free of charge.

A lot of people moved their 2020/21 holiday to 2022 so I think it’s a supply and demand issue.
