Yes, kind of. You do get to meet them without anyone else being around. And it's closer than seeing them in a parade cavalcade or wandering around the park. They'll interact with you, but at a slight distance.

But with photos there will be a large gap between you and the character if you're stood side-by-side. Or if you take a selfie then the character will be in the distance behind you.

Haha. Yes.

First videos of the distanced Mickey greet (sorry, sighting) are out. He's roped off, you basically shuffle around the perimeter of the room and take a selfie. Masks must stay on and there's no Photopass photographer.

I've not watched the video (yet) but what you describe doesn't sound great. Better than nothing, I guess, but not ideal. I thought there was an automated photo system that could take your photo and you could tap your Magicband or ticket and link the photos to your account?

Not that I noticed, the CM on entry was advising everyone they'd need their own cameras.

Not worth doing in my opinion. Wearing a mask with mickey behind a rope. Think we will give it a miss. Would have made more sense doing it outside so even if mockey was behind a rope you could get a mask free selfie with him.
