Time to boycott Disney?

Worst fears confirmed…

Disgraceful, poor Walt would be turning in his grave. We will be reducing our next 2 weeks holiday to 1 week on site MAX as no incentive. And doubt ever to return, if is wasn’t for COVID and having missed out on 2020, then missed our rescheduled 2021 trip we wouldn’t even be going. Absolutely scandalous, money grabbing ########..

When Walt first opened Disneyland, he charged an entrance fee and a per ride fee. If anything, this is returning to how he originally planned. No grave rolling.

But anyway, several threads already running about this in the Theme Parks section.

When Disney originally opened there was tiered pricing for the rides in addition to the entrance fee. It wasn’t a social enterprise, however much we’d like it to be there for everybody it’s always been elite.

I’m personally reserving judgment. If enough people are so outraged they don’t go I’ll not need to spend too much on Genie + (hopeful).

There are loads of threads on this subject in the Theme Parks section.

Walt wouldn't be turning in his grave. He was a businessman. He charged an entrance fee at Disneyland and he also charged a separate fee for each ride. How is this different? I recommend the Imagineering Story on Disney +. His attitude to money is very clear in that.

This is exactly the way I feel. If all the outraged people who say they aren't going don't go, there may not be much need for it! I'm not going till next September so will wait and see.

Just use the standby line? I am not happy either but it is what it is. Will see how it goes from the vlogs i watch. If and i mean if it does help me do everything i want to do on a trip and i spend little time in queues, i may use it. It depends on how fast the standby lines move Vs how quick you get through through the LL and if the cost is worth it for say, spending 15 mins less in a line.

Some people believe that if people don't pay and use the standby line it will keep wait times down.
