Hertz Rental via Autoeurope & SLI

As we know the curent 'great' prices from the above only includes Florida state minimum SLI, (which is not enough).
For my cancelled Oct 21 (via BA/Budget) I was paying £780 for a 7 seater (20 days), through Hertz/Autoeurope.ie it is £649, so I am going to purchase additional SLI cover via either Insurance4carhire (£125 worldwide annual policy) or Bettersafe.com who have the same for £93.
The SLI is for $1 Mill,.
Not booked yet as I can't sort the flights out until next week so unless anyone advises against doing the above that's what I'll be doing.

To be honest as long as you have a fair bit of resilience on your credit card for unforeseen circumstances and the Insurance you get is from a decent company I agree with what you are doing for SLI.

THE CDW not so much as with a UK based policy for that you could end up running around in circles with damage to the rental car.

Just booked this for our October trip, way cheaper. Still not heard back from Enterprise re the cover on the SLI for our free November rental, so I’ll probably play safe and do an annual policy like you

Can someone clarify? What’s missing from what you would expect normally?

The SLI is woefully inadequate if you get sued for damages following an accident. CDW is also insufficient/absent leaving you liable for any damage to the vehicle and any consequential loss claims from the rental company.

That’s what I thought. Interestingly Andy is advertising pretty much the same Hertz prices and states zero excess, CDW and Additional Liability up to $1m.

This is from my agreement, can’t see where it says how much but a quick google of “Hertz LIS” shows $1 mill, have I missed something somewhere?

Try Andy. He’s quoted me just £20 more than autoeurope with the required insurance.

Just found out my November Enterprise booking only includes SLI up to $300,000 so I've looked further into the policies. Be careful the terms in the insure4carhire policy looks to only cover state minimum for USA whereas the Bettersafe covers up to $1 mill and actually states over and above the hire cars limited amount up to 1 Mill.

I've purchased the annual policy and rebooked Hertz autoeurope although prices have risen significantly already so Ive picked up at Disney - 544 Euros for 14 days for full size SUV with 7 seats.
