DAS changes

Hiya

We’re looking at planning our next disneyworld trip and have found that they are planning on making changes to the DAS pass however there doesn’t seem to be any consistent information on what the changes are, does anyone have any information or has experienced it lately?

I am hoping to use it (can apparently arrange 30 days in advance by video call now) in December. Happy to report back if that would help?

The updated info is on the WDW website but unfortunately it's one of those pages that's only working in the US. But if you have a VPN, you can view it here: disneyworld.disney.go/gu...ccess-service/

The main change is that you can pre-register for DAS online via a video call, between 2-30 days before your trip. If you do this, you can pre-select two Genie+ (not ILLS) attractions in advance, similar to FP+. This is done while on the call. If you don't wish to do this (or can't, because it's also currently locked behind a VPN) you can still register at Guest Relations on arrival, same as before.

The second change is that once registered, you can select your return times (including ILLS) via the app instead of having to go to the attraction and speak to the CM. I would assume the old system is also still available for those who don't have the app, but I'm looking forward to using the app for this so haven't bothered to look into it.

Adrian put out a video yesterday of using DAS in the app, as his dad is a DAS user...

Nothing has changed in terms of eligibility.

I imagine from early next month you’ll be able to do it without a vpn, time will tell.

It’s not available for U.K. guests at the moment. Hopefully when the borders open that will change. Although US residents are reporting very long (hours/days long) waits so who knows how/if it will work for us here. You can still go to guest services when you arrive - the option to pre register is not the only option.

The service doesn’t start in the US until 1st November. So I guess maybe an initial backlog, though surprised if that is the case since you can only do it a max of 30 days away.

This is a vast improvement for DAS. Having to either leave party member or walk to the ride where you need the pass then go elsewhere was a pain. This is much better.
