Uber Eats low fat options/IBS
Hi,
I suffer with IBS and get bad stomach pains/cramps/etc when I eat too many of certain foods. One of the main problems is high fat foods. The odd heavy meal is ok, but 2 weeks of eating park food will be a disaster! I decided to download the Uber Eats app as figured there would be plenty of options for delivery. I have started going through it and making a few restaurants my ‘favourite’ but does anyone have any suggestions off the top of their heads of ‘healthier’ places to eat. I’m thinking salads, chicken, salmon, rice, etc. Thank you

I also suffer from IBS and severe reflux - last time we went in 2019 we had 1 week onsite and 2 in self catering offsite. I was worried about the onsite week but I was reasonably ok actually. Quick service was hardest but I found things at most restaurants that could be adjusted. Lots of restaurants have allergen menues /info. I asked for dairy free and glutenfree and that seemed to work for me most of the time. Although I was weak once and had a small portion of Kitchen Sink icecream at Beach Club…. I visited every toilet around world showcase at Epcot after that :-)

I suffer with diverticulitis and ibs. I had a bad flare up recently that took days to settle and I'm still a bit uncomfortable.
It got me worried about our trip next year. I have problems with salad, fruits and undercooked veg as well as too much fat, dairy etc. But I am ok with the odd burger and possibly a treat or two but your right, two weeks of park food is risky business. I'm a little worried about the difference in UK v US foods fat content. I have been doing the exact same thing as you. Added some places that have grilled salmon/chicken to my Uber eats favourite list. I will be getting a Walmart delivery so I can make myself low fiber lunches in our off-site accommodation.

I have ibs and black pepper and raw onions or spicy food make it worse. It’s also brought on by stress but I can eat most things in Florida probably because I’m happy and not stressed! Sorry I haven’t helped!

I never dreamed black pepper could be an issue. I use black pepper a lot, I'll have a look at that. Great tip

I actually think any pepper makes it flare up and gives me cramping pains, I love a bit of pepper on my dinner but had to have a roast yesterday without it. There also pepper in lots of ready meals

Thank you I guess a difficulty is that everyone has different triggers so it’s not just a case of ‘eat this’! I’ll keep working through Uber Eats and I’ll got through some park menus too. It would be easier if we stayed offsite, but wanted the full onsite experience for our first trip with the boys.

Look at all the restaurants lighter bites menus
I love chillies salmon and broccoli lighter bite you can have=it with chicken A nice size grilled salmon or chicken breast with broccoli and carrots or rice Red lobster again a plain grilled fish choice with veg unloaded backed potato Anywhere that has a free salad I ask for it with out dressing and to come with my plain and I make sure they. Know it’s to be unseasoned ( they use 200 times at least more salt than I like ) choice of fish ,chicken ,meat I carry a small bottle of my favorite dressing with me for my salad Yes they sometimes look at you but never had an issue Sometimes I just want a unseasoned steak , plain baked potato and salad with no dressing always been no problem |
