VE day celebration Friday... what are you doing...?

God help my thighs, my diet is completely going out of the window..

I am downloading loads of Vera Lynn songs on Spotify...

We are having Egg & Cress Sandwiches, Cheese and Pickle Sandwiches, Corned Beef Sandwiches..., I have also got Scones, Jam and Cream, plus ordered Custard Tarts and a few cream cakes.

Going to sit in the garden and celebrate us 2 and the dogs, hopefully there will be some sort of clapping or going out and cheering perhaps something like that.

What are you all doing... anything special ? xx

Unfortunately we are not doing anything where we live. Just heard from our son and they are having a street party (keeping apart as necessary) but it does sound as though quite a lot of the neighbours are all involved.

No idea if the street is doing anything (we would have been going round to my mum's ☹ )

But we are planning to decorate with bunting (kids colouring it in) and poppies etc. Going to dress in red, white, blue if anything still fits me lol.

Twinkl have a range of education things so going to download some of that and making it a learning day as well as celebrating.

some of our neighbours had tried to set up some sort of BBQ/party socially distant

but have now concluded as we live on a hill with 12 houses aside its impossible to be together but 2m apart if that makes sense, in the past we have met in the middle of the street, also throw in a few toddlers and primary aged kids its more hassle than its worth trying to keep them apart

so its a few drinks on chairs end of our drives where possible at best

Lucky you , it’s a normal Friday here
I shouldn’t think the shops that are open will close , they don’t for the May Day holiday usually but not working in retail I wouldn’t know if anything is different this year .

My wife has been busy making place mats etc. We already had the bunting and flags ready.

Hoping to sit in the front garden (it's got a wall and railings so automatically distancing) and get merrily sloshed. Will offer any passers by a drink(from a clean disposable cup).

Was the day we were flying to Orlando for 3 weeks.
