Virgin cancelled flight, what are my options?
We’ve obviously been cancelled for 22nd august with Virgin and as yet I haven’t contacted them.
Ideally, as we got a really good price I’d like to change to next year for the same price. Can I do this or will they try to charge me? Am I even entitled to this? We were looking to go next august, how would this work or can I only change it to flights that are already on sale? How is everyone contacting virgin by phone or WhatsApp/chat? Edited at 05:23 PM. |

I was told that they use a live system which means that any holiday change is booked at the price it is today.
We are in the same boat and had a very good price. At the minute all prices appear to be twice as much as we initially paid, so will probably have to get a refund rather than rebook |

A credit note ties you to an airline .. and their prices.
If they are not offering you a ‘no rearrangement fee’ and no extra cost move to another date, then I would most certainly demand a full refund as you are entitled to by law and within 7 working days. This would mean that when looking at next year, all options are open and you can proceed with the best deal available.. and regardless of airline.

I was confused following A call with Virgin
The website mentions 3 options Refund Credit note (plus a small bonus per person) Rebook for no extra cost But when I spoke to them about moving to next august the only thing offered was the first two options). I’m assuming there must be some tight constraints on the rebook at no extra cost (2021 maybe?) |

We contacted them by phone last Sunday afternoon, it took about 20 minutes to get through so not too bad. The number we called is 0344 874 7747.
They let us change our cancelled August flights to late October flights for no extra charge (thank goodness - the current price for those flights was 2k more!) I'm not sure about August next year with those flights not being on sale yet, you'd be best asking Virgin. The staff on the phone were incredibly helpful 😊 Good luck! |

I had cancelled June flights that I moved to September for no extra cost and my parents had cancelled June flights that they moved to April 2022 for no extra cost.
