What’s Cyprus like in April?
We have booked a fantastic deal staying at the Odessa Beach Resort Hotel in Protaras over the Easter half term.
Could anyone tell me what this area is like around this time of year for things like weather, is there much going on around this time of year etc? Is there anywhere nice to visit that’s fairly local - although we probably will pick our car hire up from Avis as it was cheaper to book the Flydrive than flights directly.

April is changeable, you could see some rain
When the sun is out temperatures are pleasant and usually early to mid 20s

We went in April 18 and had lovely weather. Low to mid 20s the whole time. The outdoor pool was too cold for me but the kids went in. The beach and sea were lovely though. We did go to Waterworld in Ayia Napa, which had just opened for the season and had a great time!

It isn’t really beach weather, whilst mild and pleasant.. low 20s at peak.
The issue with Protaris is that it is a new build Beach resort, albeit with an old village behind. Cyprus is fantastic for culture and history, but unfortunately, most of it is between Limassol and Paphos Airport plus behind that area, Mount Olympus and the Troodos Mountains. Kolossi Castle, Akrotiri Salt Marsh, Orange Groves, Kourion, birthplace of Aphrodite, Pissouri Village etc. Sorry to sound negative, I lived there for 2 years and have returned several times since. I went to Protaras a good few years ago in April. It was like a nice sunny spring day here. 19/20/21 degrees. We hired a car and went exploring.

Not negative at all
We are not ones for lounging around the beach anyway, we prefer to go off and explore. We got such a good deal for the last week of the Easter holidays (£1600 for 2A and 3C All inclusive with flights and car) we couldn’t really turn it down

I would agree that this represents an excellent price… in fact, a pretty astonishing price!

I agree with the others re temperature. Would you hire a car ? It’s really easy to get round the island and visit all the places CFB mentions. It’s a beautiful island with loads to see and do

Not everyones cup of tea but you are only 75 mins from Niccosia. It is well worth looking round the old town and walking up to the Green Line which separates the country. If you go upstairs to the cafe in Woolworths you can look over the border and see the Turkish flag painted on the rocks.
There used to be a little road train that went round, don't know if it still does.
