I would say having had many private sector jobs that the standard for private sector is 25 days plus bank holidays.
The minimum is 28 days including bank holidays, so 20 days +BH and that’s what a lot of lower level hospitality roles etc would get. Some businesses reward time at company with annual leave but not so many these days

25 days plus bank holidays, we can buy 5 days and have 12 flexi days, which will double to 24 in January.

32 plus bank holidays. We also have a shut down between Christmas and New Year so three days unpaid, I'm happy having the time off though .
I work half a week now so don't work Mondays, Tuesdays or Wednesday morning unless I volunteer to do extra. It means I have plenty time off , but as I'm going to turn 60 next year I feel I deserve it now having started work at 16 😃

Another long service PWS so not necessarily comparable but my OH is private sector and he gets 30 days, plus all BH's plus his Birthday off (or day closest if on a weekend) plus half day Fridays from May to September, and a Christmas shopping day.
The only challenge we sometimes have is that his A/L is calculated on the calendar year from Jan to Dec whereas mine is the financial year Apr to March |

I get 25 days plus BHs.
At my last company I could buy up to an extra 10 days, but sadly that’s not an option with my current employer. |

Excited about Disney

I started a new job this April with a local authority and get 27 days plus bank holidays. In my previous role it started at 25 and went up a day per year of service to a max of 32 (plus bank holidays.) I'm going to buy 5 days of leave for 22/23 as we have such a backlog of holidays! We can buy 5 or 10 days and my manager is happy for me to buy 10 if I wish.
