Alamo v Alamo Max
On AutoEurope I'm seeing prices for Alamo and Alamo Max. Anyone know the difference or booked Alamo Max before?

I haven't heard of 'Max' sorry. I have just checked my bookings for next year and the 'Max' option isn't showing for me.
Is it only for a specific date or are you seeing it for any date please?

Yeah have seen it and it’s a ‘free’ upgrade. Not sure they can guarantee a newer car though, isn’t that up to you when you pick one?

I was about to ask this question as I swapped our booking from dollar to alamo max last night. I saved a few quid in the process but it was more about being able to drop off the car at the dolphin when we move onsite. There is very little detail explaining the 'max' difference other than what has already been mentioned, but I will let you know if there is anything startling in a few days

I've seen a few max quotes on various brokers sites and there seem to be a couple of standard offers. A guaranteed upgrade (I've seen this regularly from intermediate SUV to standard) or a free additional driver.

Alamo Max offers a free upgrade:
Economy -> Compact Compact -> Intermediate Intermediate -> Standard Standard -> Full size car Intermediate SUV -> Standard SUV Its only for select dates that end in mid January I believe. It doesn't include an additional driver. As for the new vehicle, they just state a 2019 vehicle is classed as new. I'd like to think they won't have any 2018 models. |

sure, but how does that work ?
I mean, if you use skip the counter and go direct to the garage, it either has to show on your documents so you can pick the higher class car, or it means you still have to queue at the desk or at the hut kind of defeats the StC purpose ? |
