Good news for uni students?
Many unis (hopefully all) are not penalising any students due to the current situation, and will ensure that students do not get a lower grade than they have achieved up until 22 March this year. So they can only improve their current grade but it won't be reduced.
They are also guaranteeing student places for next year that aren't in their final year. That sounds like a fair way of dealing with the current situation? |

DS is studying Accountancy and he is still having to sit exams as stipulated by the professional bodies, though they will be online.

My daughter has had her conditional offer changed to unconditional which is a huge relief.

UK unis rely heavily on overseas students (Europe and farther afield), so with Brexit and the current situation it will result in less overseas students leaving more places for UK students.

The uni I am attending has cancelled exams/assessment for first year undergrad students so all will be able to continue into 2nd year. Everyone else will still be assessed somehow, we are just waiting to find out how. The rest of our learning this year will be online, which doesn’t quite give the same experience however there’s just no other way round it.

My dd is having to give presentations via Skype for her final major project and Dissertation. She’s working flat out in the spare room which is also my working from
Home office. It’s a tight squeeze but we will get there. |

My daughter is in her first year of a Biology degree, they won’t be returning this year but are having lectures and powerpoints online. She will have an online exam and report to write which will go towards her end of year mark.
She’s finding it quite difficult to work from home, even though she’s usually good at studying. She says it’s difficult using the lectures as her only source of learning instead of having workshops and lab practical classes. |

And much less funding as university charge full fees for non EU (currently) students.

DD is in final uni this year and will graduate - is completing an essay tonight and will have her exam online - will then be given a grade accordingly - just sad that they won’t have their final day in uni all together and graduation day - but in the circumstances it probably is the best decision.
