Excited about Disney
|
We used the Deluxe plan at BOG in 2017 and the server actually told our 7 year old Granddaughter that she could order off the adult menu.
We also noticed this year that at many restaurants she was told she could have an adult dessert. 🤩🤩🤩

It says
Guests ages 3-9 must order from a children's menu where available In the official blurb... Which isn’t actually true either as if a child has a adult ticket they get the plan. My job is dealing with contracts and this sort of stuff day in day out. Looking forward to that call lol. I will let you know how I get on if it comes to it so others can maybe benefit I do believe this is changing the goal post after money has been taken and it will be hard for Disney to defend it. Granted for new bookings your stuffed |

On hold with TUI to see if I can upgrade my 6 year old's tickets to give her an adult plan now. The QS options are laughable for a 14 night trip. Generally the same 5 meals offered in nearly every restaurant. And for a British child a pre packaged pb&j sandwich is not a valid meal choice 😡.
Tui say speak to disney. Disney say get TUI to amend childs age to 10 and pay for upgraded ticket. Round and round in circles I go. |

You will struggle with a package as TUI need to enter a correct date of birth for the flight and so they can’t put a false age on the booking.

I agree the choice isn't enough for a long holiday, those applesauce packets that they give with them are awful as well.
When we went if you ordered with a qs and sc they had to do 2 separate transactions. SO does it mean that if I want all three it will be three transactions / receipts. I can see this causing chaos with the already bewildered servers at QS locations ...they struggle to convert credits let alone anything else. I believe I cant upgrade the child ticket as we are in the 5th sleeper at CBR and we have to have a child under 9.

disney want to save money so enforcing something that has always been stated isn't really wrong but it will make a huge difference to a lot of people who have already booked assuming they can use the credits the way they have always been able to.
The kids options are really dire and for kids like ds who have allergies and food issues its going to be really tough - pretty much the only thing he can/will eat off the kids menus(which are virtually the same at most venues) is chicken nuggets and even then its hit & miss Thankfully we are only doing 5 days on site and have upgraded to ddp so not a huge issue but if it was a longer stay or we were qsdp only it would be a nightmare Hopefully people will start posting their experiences of the new system over the next few days and whether or not it it enforced |

Yep that is the problem. Although I spoke with disney travel.company and they said that is the workaround they are using, and you can book flights with them.
TUI have raised an internal investigation to see if the product team can talk with disney wholesale about selling me an adult ticket and dining for a 7 year old. So we'll see. But I suspect it'll be a no without lying about her age |

I’m wondering whether to upgrade my 6yo to the adult plan, the two older kids have it due to age. I mainly want it for the quick service options and it also means we can share them out more to share QS meals. The only thing I’m hesitating on is what happens with the TS meals if the child doesn’t have any children’s credits, can we use an adult credit to pay for a child’s buffet? I’m happy to pay oop for a normal table service kids meal and we have often done that for the older ones in the past but buffets are more expensive and if it goes down as an adult buffet that’s adding much more on with the tip which will work out way more expensive than the £20.
