Which steakhouse: Outback v Longhorn

We were always a big fan of Longhorns (Vineland Ave) but on our last trip we were really dissapointed and tried Outback which was fantastic and became our new favourite. However the Outback on Vineland was far superior than the one on the 192 so wondered if they all vary so much.

Which is your favourite of these two restaurants and which location would you choose?

Longhorns by a distance.

We also love Texas Roadhouse. Steaks are great for the price and you need to try the blooming onion.

This poll is a few months old now but still shows the trend I think

Longhorn at Rolling Oaks by a mile for us. We've given Outback at Formosa a few "second" chances but neither the servers nor chefs seem to understand "can we have our steaks unseasoned please?"

The Texas over the road from Longhorn runs a close second but much noisier.

Mick, we encountered the same problem in Bradenton and Cape Coral. It makes me wonder if they are pre-seasoned rather than being seasoned just prior to cooking.

John

You could be right but I would expect the server to know that. We never have the "over-seasoned" problem at Longhorn, Texas, Logans, Manny's (we gave the one on 192 another chance last December and it was much better than our first visit )

I don't think we've been to another Outback in Florida although we did go to one on Cape Cod but many years ago.

We "discovered" Longhorn way back in 2003 at Longboat Key and never regretted it

We have given up on Longhorns on Vineland.
Slow service and the final straw was I went to the loo and the floor was covered in paper towels. As I walked past the kitchen the door was open and their floor was even worse!

The one on the 192 is always good.
