Its a great city to visit. I would recommend the Greenwich Village food tour for something a little bit different.

And get a limo from the airport - its not as dear as you would expect!

Completely agree with this, love Chicago, Boston, Philly and Washington. NY must be done once though.

I've been to all these places & loved them all, but I would always choose NY first.

Chicago was great but wouldn't rush back but will go back at some point, Boston was fantastic and will go back soon but for me NY has something special about it, especially when you get away from the touristy areas.

Been 5 times and the 6th trip is booked

Went with Mrs Topwithens for 5 days the first week of December last year, what can I say that hasn't already been said , we stayed on Park and 38th location was excellent , this is the city with everything. Found everyone to be helpful , shops were decorated for Xmas , and the Rockerfeller tree lights were switched on by Leonna Lewis during our stay . Xmas is a magical time to be there , weather was cold but dry , went to the top of the ESB on our first night at 10 pm definitely a romantic highlight of the trip
Oh and take in an Ice hockey game at Masdison Square Gardens , another highlight .
Go on BOOK a trip to the Big Apple ... it's amazing

Well the trip is finally booked yey

We are having 7 nights in August. I know it's going to be hot but it was the only suitable time given everything we've got going on at home.

Managed to bag a bargain hotel on hotwire. So we are staying in midtown which will make things easy to get to.

Now starting the planning and just pulling off all your tips - thankyou

Jo

Can i ask who you did the helicopter ride with?

Also how was it room wise, i'm 6'7 and a bit worried about how cramped it would be and have seen a couple of reports from people shorter than me complaining that their height was an issue.
