We're going at the end of November for just 4 nights ! (couldn't resist the sub £300 flight ), We've booked into Pasadena, We'll have a car so getting about will ok. And the room prices are much more favourable.

We stayed at The Tangerine in Burbank and I really liked that there were some bars and restaurants within walking distance. We left the car at the hotel and used Uber for Universal Studios and Walk of Fame area. I felt Burbank was quite relaxed.
I've also noticed that hotel prices in Burbank have surged. The Tangerine is coming in as more expensive than The Garland for a few dates I've been looking at. I'd choose The Garland out of the two as The Garland has more facilities but the location is better suited to a having a car. |

We've stayed in Burbank as well but Santa Monica was nicest. I probably won't do downtown LA ever again but if I had to visit it'd be Santa Monica.

I’m not sure I’d recommend Burbank or Pasadena for someone relying on public transport and who is doing a whirlwind 5 day trip so can’t really afford to sit out commute times. I got caught once going back to Burbank at 7pm with the commuters and the Hollywood Bowl traffic!
I think West Hollywood or the Grove area. I think you mentioned the Orlando hotel in your previous post and that’s a great central location. |

For universal, Hollywood, Long Beach etc we stay at Stevenson Ranch, and then for Disney and Knotts we stay in Anaheim (close to Knotts, hotels dont charge for parking around there). The driving doesn't bother me if we are out and about, though we won't bother with Hollywood this time as it is pretty lame.

We stayed in Burbank at a fantastic little hotel called Tha Tangerine Hotel. It was in a great location and only a five minute walk from Warner Brothers Studio. Can’t wait to go back!
