Alas, that may be true. You've got to hope that OTD have decent cancellation/change policies.
I know american attraftions is free to convert to 2021 or just £25 to cancel and get refund. |

If I remember correctly you had to have purchased the tickets before a date in April in 2020 for them to be valid til the 30th September 2021.

I received an email re paying the balance last week requesting payment before 7 June. The email stated:
“If you decide you want to pay your balance by 7th June and receive your 2020 tickets but then find that your 2020 holiday is subsequently cancelled, your ticket will be valid until 16 September 2021.”. I’ve emailed OTD... |

When you bought them last week was there an option for 2020 and 2021 and if so I'm guessing you clicked 2020 (or if you called them what did you request).
As it stands now with Disney tickets you can only get 2021 tickets from them which I guess happened the minute Disney said there would be no more tickets sold until park reservation tickets are sorted for existing ticket holders |

Just had this response from OTD
You've been issued 2020 tickets with extended validity to 16 September 2021. Please find information below: Disney Ultimate Tickets - tickets are open dated and valid to use until 30 September 2021 (tickets must be activated on or before 16 September 2021 to get the full 14 days usage). You can keep this email as proof of your extended ticket validity. |

Yes. As it says on Disney’s website, it’s only tickets that were bought before 11th April that are extended to the end of September 2021.
disneyworld/travel...ations-refunds For anyone buying them recently - especially after the news that the parks would remain closed until mid-July - and choosing 2020 tickets then it’s assumed that the person knows about all the changes, restrictions and opening dates and therefore they are happy to use them in 2020 and not 2021. ETA; Ah just seen that you put a deposit down on the tickets in January. That’s a bit different. Glad OTD clarified things for you.

just for clarity, you did not activate your tickets.
you linked them to MyDisneyExperience You only activate a ticket when you first enter a park, and that's when they start. Once activated they expire 14 (or 21) days later. I am mentionning, because we have many questions on here by people who fear they will activate their tickets if they link them up or make FP+ reservations. So, let's not make things more confusing than they already are. Activation = entering a park Linking a ticket to MDX does not activate it. Edited at 05:12 PM. |
