ATD Email just through about free dining cancellation
Below email just came through from ATD about 2020 free dining / hotel bookings.
Dear Customer, Further to our email last week about the cancellation of Disney Dining Plans, we are now able to share more details about the policy so that you can make an informed choice as to what you would like to do. Disney Dining Plan Cancellation Unfortunately Walt Disney World has taken the difficult decision to cancel all dining plans, including those which were booked on the Free Disney Dining and Drinks offer. • Bookings with a paid Disney Dining Plan: This element has been removed from your booking and the total price adjusted accordingly. • For customers booked on the 2020 Free Disney Dining and Drinks offer: Free Dine has been removed from your booking. You will receive a 35% discount on your room price which has already been applied to your booking (Discount does not apply to tickets and will only be applied to the room price). To view your booking and adjusted balance, please visit your customer account. Your Options 1. Keep your (original) hotel and ticket reservation and enjoy Walt Disney World in 2020 with the above price adjustments where applicable. 2. Amend your booking to 2021 and carry over your deposit - 2021 prices will apply but we will waive all admin charges. To let us know you would like to do this, please email: DisneyHotels@AttractionTickets.com. If any 2021 early booking offer is subsequently launched, we'll automatically apply the offer to your booking provided your chosen hotel, room type and travel dates qualify. Subject to availability. 3. Cancel your 2020 hotel and ticket reservation and receive a full refund of all monies paid to us within 14 days in line with the Package Travel Regulations. Please get in touch if you would like to do this on DisneyHotels@AttractionTickets.com. We are very sorry that your holiday has been affected in this way. We will continue to update you as any new information becomes available. Please take your time to consider the options above and get in touch when you are ready. Phone Icon Call 0800 223 0324 - Our expert team are available Mon to Fri: 9am - 7pm, Sat: 10am - 4pm. Email Icon Or email us here Changes to Park Operations As Walt Disney World prepares to safely welcome you back to the magic, there are some new safety procedures and operational changes that you need to be aware of before you travel. To find out more about these changes, click here. With best wishes, AttractionTickets.com

I want to go now!

No financial incentive to move the booking to 2021 then as suspected.
Take the discount and go this year as planned, move to next year and pay 2021 prices without Dining Plan or cancel. |

Not gonna lie disappointed that you get nothing for moving your trip but the 35% off isn’t too bad. It’s not enough to keep my reservation though.
Thanks for posting!

its a bit sh*t!
We had free dining and a $300 gift card like many did and 35% does not make up for the loss of both of them + magic hours + ADR's + fastpasses + park hours ... We were already decided we were not going this year but were holding out for an offer to reschedule to 2021. We will just cancel now and go somewhere else next year Edited at 12:41 PM. |

Thanks for sharing, we've just received the same email looking at our holiday that was due to start 10th Sep.
We have two bookings with ATD for this year, for Animal Kingdom Lodge and Aventura, only deposits paid at the moment, balances due shortly. I think we're going to try and cancel the Disney hotel (reading this we think we should get the deposit back?) as the price difference for 2021 is not appealing to us, so we would look at booking something else. We've previously been told we can move Universal to next year and there's very little movement in the price, so I think that's what we will do with that. Hope the information shared by them helps other people make decisions, as we've found the uncertainty around this really draining recently.

An offer designed to encourage cancellations. There's no way the 35% covers anything close to the loss of DDP. Interesting that they are making incentive to encourage people to move to 2021 either. Pretty poor all round.

Will be cancelling then, £950 discount is not enough for 4 adults To cover the loss of dining plan, including snacks and drinks for 14 day’s... not forgetting, no park hopping, shows, parades, fireworks, character meets etc etc

For a couple at a moderate for 14 days 35% does just over £1000/ $1200 for us. We would be very happy with that and would cover our new food costs and probably parking at the resort.
Things work differently for different people but if that's our offer direct from Disney - we are happy!
