Price of Paracetamol

Anyone else noticed there’s been huge increase in the tablets
Wilko used to be 20p for 16, now 70p
Just been Tesco used to be cheap but now 75p 😳
First world problems I know but that’s some mark up, had a few migraines recently so needed to stock up

I just paid 55p from Tesco (for Ibuprofen but they're usually the same price) on my click & collect order, but I was saying to DH the other day that I think Tesco have increased their prices across the board.

Everything feels more expensive than it was at the beginning of the year, I do feel that businesses are making up for their losses / extra expenses, which I understand, but people are struggling also, horrible state of affairs.

Hope your headaches don't continue

Yes I’ve noticed too, most places open brand were around 20/30p but they have at least doubled

I work in a pharmacy, within a supermarket. We order in our own paracetamol and only make a very very small (pennies) profit. We sell a box of 32 tablets for £1.49. The price has gone up within the last 6 months, but that is purely because we are having to pay more for them.

I often wonder what items are considered when they publish the RPI/CPI data as most of the items we purchase cost more now than they did a few months ago.

I buy the branded ones in the blue packet. Call me a snob if you want but I definitely think they perform better.
