I've let myself down (cost me £20)

I bet my son £20 that I'm not eating any goodies this week (such as sweets, chocolate, cake, biscuits etc), but today 2 Christmas selection boxes arrived with our shopping delivery that my wife ordered for the neighbours kids, but the temptation was too much for me and I ate the contents of one of the selection boxes (selection boxes are so overpriced).

So I've not only let myself down but it's cost me £20 and I feel a failure.

Please feel free to be horrible to me for having no self control and stealing a child's Christmas selection box.

Only one selection box? I would say that’s incredible restraint and you should be applauded.

You are right because I did a quality control check to avoid the kid getting ill (fortunately the chocolate was okay).

Not only has it cost you £20 you will also have to replace the one you ate. Get Mrs MH to hide them from you. I had to put my bottle of Baileys and M&S Gin in the back of the cupboard otherwise they’ll be gone before the big day.

If it cost you £20 then why not eat the 2nd one too. Therefore it only cost you £10 each time . Far better that way and you will feel better for knowing that.
