coffee machine

right, so we have gone through them cheapo £50 machines, moved onto the Nespresso machines with the milk container that frothes, it was fine, but i now want a real coffee bean machine

So any recommendations, i wouldnt mind it as close to a professional machine ( like you get in a coffee shop, you know with the bean holder that you have to tap out ) as i can, but dont really want to pay £2000 for it

looking on amazon

I fancied this, but it doesnt do the grinding

amazon/Sage-BES810...CNW8ZWQTT&th=1

Or this

amazon/Ariete-1313...%2C676&sr=8-10

or this

amazon/DeLonghi-Ma...76&sr=8-5&th=1

the 2nd option has 2 options, built in grinder is £330 or the same machine without a built in grinder is £150, now thats a £180 price difference, where a standalone grinder is £50 maximum ( and even £20 )

Hmmmmm a tough choice, i will leave it for Dibb's to help me out

We have the last one you have put a link to. We've had it a good few years now and it's been brilliant. Our most used gadget during lockdown .

amazon/DeLonghi-Ma...76&sr=8-5&th=1

All it ever needs is the odd descale, which is easy to do.

We got one for our son and daughter-in-law a few years ago in a Black Friday sale as they loved ours when they have stayed, and we only paid £199 for theirs.

You can use beans which it grinds, or you can use ground beans, we've only ever used beans in ours.

Gaggia UK website currently has a sale on.

gaggiadirect/bean-to-cup-shop.html

I had a Gaggia Platinum Vision for over 15 years and it has just been written off (mechanically sound the LCD display went and cannot be replaced).
It’s the only thing I ever took an extended warranty out on and my payout covered the cost of its current equivalent - the Cadorna Plus at £625.
So far, so thrilled with it - it even has profile settings on it, so different family members can save the brews that they prefer - more coffee, less water etc.

If this one lasts as long as my last, I’ll be very pleased.

I’ve got a Melitta one. Had it about 5 years, seems well made as they make commercial stuff- Swiss I think.

Not sure what this one is like but looks a bargain- ao/product/6553104-melit...a-907143713483

Nice and simple, no fancy screen, just does the job and well made.

I have this one and I love it. Its not fancy but it does make a great cup of coffee. I dont really love lattes or milky coffee I just like it with a splash of cold milk. Has aved me a fortune in the last year. I buy my beans from Costco which are usually roasted by starbucks but you can get lavazza ones in there too. Thermal cup keeps the coffee warm for hours form this too. Has a timer and a strength control. Its not fancy but I love it and its the second one I have had!

Also have the de longhi Magnifica bean to cup. They seem to have good offers Black Friday/ Boxing Day. Husband never buys coffee shop coffees now as they are nowhere near as good as the ones he can make himself.
