Alcoholic drinks on the dining plan

Hi all

We have the DDP booked for next summer, our girls will be 11 and 14 so adults on the plan.

I know that we can order alcoholic drinks on the plan but my question is if i fancy a second cocktail and my OH a second beer can we use those as the DDP drinks and buy the girls sodas?

Thanks 😊

They may have cracked down on this. But we would do this in 2018 sometimes in the resort food court! They didn't seem to notice if a grown up was "paying" for all the meals!

I think the drink comes with the meal, not sure if they can be ordered on their own. If you order say four meals with alcoholic drinks, they will ask to see four people.
Unless it’s different now…

You might get away with it in a QS, but I cannot see that you would in a TS. The plan states that it is an alcoholic beverage for guests over 21.

I think it would be server specific but I know rules have tightened, from the servers point of view it's better for them it's a $3 tip versus.80C/drink but it's also not worth losing their jobs over IYKWIM Even on a QS I think that you would need to order twice as they are supposed to ID everyone who is drinking- We ordered 4 drinks at Chef Art's but only 3 of us had ID so initially the server wouldn't serve DSGF, it was only when we all said change our drinks to soft drinks that the server relented(It wasn't bothering us either way so we didn't pressure him) but we were aware that his was breaking the rules but also it was 4 adults.

In the past I’ve had servers in QS ask to see the ID for everyone the drinks are for. Sometimes they were happy with seeing an adult wave but mostly wanted the ID. This wasn’t all the time but maybe 40-50% of places we ate at. Haven’t been since 2019 though so can’t say if things have changed since.

So basically, you might get away with it, you might not.

We went with the kids 21&18 . Definite no for the extra drink , it his to be for each Individual if you get me . They asked for Id for our 21 yr old everywhere we went inc qs so I doubt you would be able to use their credit with younger kids .

2019 with 2 of us (one adult and one child) we often shared so one meal, one alcoholic drink for me and free water for daughter (she had fizzy pop in resort mug so wasn’t bothered about fizzy in parks) then would share another meal a bit later. Worked well. I did do a dining review.

Hi if you have adult credits on your Disney dinning plan you can get 2 alcoholic drinks per id. So it would mean you could go up order 2 meals in quick service and get 2 alcoholic drinks. And your wife could also do the same.

Hoping to do the same in Feb (2 adults, 3 kids [14,12,9], so we have 4 "adult" QS DP plans and 1 child.

Seem to recall the 2 drinks per ID rule from when we were last there in 2018, but I thought I'd seen something about 1 drink per ID since on another post.

Will wait and see - worst case we'd have to do it in 2 orders if we really wanted a second alcoholic drink I suppose.
