The very last minute surprise trip whistle-stop tour - Post-trip pre-trip

It was so last minute I just about had time to pack let alone write a pre-trip but I’m getting better as at least there’s a trip report this time! The pre-trip for the all the trips we’ve done can be found here.

The pre-trip to trips that don't have trip reports but tells you all about us and has some lovely photos.

This trip came about while we were planning the big May holiday. We’ve had two trips to DLP with annual passes, the last one being for Halloween in October. With the next trip in May and annual passes burning a hole in my pocket we were having serious withdrawal symptoms. All we could talk about was ‘next time we go’. So I had a little look at how much the Eurotunnel was…£53 for an overnight return. That’s alright. Then a look at hotel prices. £66 was the cheapest so I thought I’d ring and see how much Santa Fe was. £73. And all of a sudden the hotel was booked, Eurotunnel was booked and we were off to Disney in 3 days time! Now all I had to do was keep it a secret from the boys.

The day before they guessed we were going away overnight as the suitcase had to come out. They were excited enough about staying in a hotel so let’s see what happens in the morning! They didn’t even know we were going to France. We had a pizza supper and it was super early to bed. It was the easiest bedtime ever!

So the plan is to hit the ground running. Up at 4:15 for me to do the last minute bits. Boys up at 4:50 to get into the car and off at 5:00 for the 6:20 crossing. 3 hours down through France and arrive at Disney for lunch. Day 1 is the Studios for the Star Wars extravaganza and as many rides as possible. Day 2 is in DisneyLand Parc and hitting as much as possible. Let’s see what happens….

Three days time is pretty good, but we can beat that.

Thursday night, thought about it, priced up, decided we were being silly.

Friday morning, booked and were on Eurostar by 3pm!

However - yours is still pretty good though. Looking forward to reading more.
