Interesting Late Availability

After booking

3 nights Kidani
8 nights Copper Creek
1 night Bay Lake Tower
1 night Saratoga

for Nov/Dec months ago(11 and 7), while we were out there I looked to see if we could get 2 nights together for the last 2 nights. Managed to swap out the BLT for Boardwalk, then the day before managed to swap to 2 nights in a 1 bed in OKW.

I was suprised at the amount of movement available with 1 or 2 days notice. It was well worth checking to see what was available. A similar pattern seems to be available this week, even a decent number of studios available.

We found this when renting our points out - I made some speculative bookings which I was then able to adjust nearer the time. I think some of the availability comes from people making late changes due to covid etc.

We extended our trip by a week a couple of months ago and all that was available was SSR for our first 2 nights before we cruise, I've been checking at least once a day every day since to try and change to somewhere else and it's only ever SSR that comes up, other than the odd single night.

I'll definitely be checking last minute now, thanks

I took advantage of this in November. We had booked 13 nights but in a few different hotels (to make sure we had somewhere to stay at least). I stalked the DVC site and booked an extra night here and there at Beach Club where we wanted to stay. I then managed to get Thanksgiving and a couple more nights at Beach Club whilst we were already there and booked 2 nights at BWV for the end of the trip. I had noticed that in the weeks leading up to our trip that most hotels had availability 1-7 days out if you kept looking so took a chance and it paid off.
