We Lease ours through my work as I work in the community. Works perfectly for that. Love not having to fill up etc. We never expected to travel in it. But it's just so nice, so why wouldn't you? 😂

Getting back on track, if you have a Tesla, there is a Telsa dealership a couple of miles from the Airport so you might be able to use that. If not, there is a Tesco in Crawley that is only a few minutes from the motorway with charging points.

This may also help - crawley.gov.uk/transport-and...harging-points

ZapMap shows a bp pluse hub with 7 rapid chargers, some look like they can charge 2 cars at once, it's at

Purple Parking, Charlwood Road, Crawley, RH11 0QB.

Never really used BP pulse so don't know what it's like, as my preference for chargers is;

1, MFG - Normally 8 rapids with a coffee shop on site, never let me down but not many sites around.

2, Instavolt - Normally 2 or 4 rapids at each site and have a deal with McDonalds & Costa. Again always seem to work.

3, Osprey - Always seem to work but most sites are only 1 or 2 chargers.

Take it you're aware of Zap Map?
Got Zap Map now. Though personal experiences of these locations and recommendations are useful. Sone of the comments on Zap Map put me off a lot of charing stations.

Thanks for all the tips guys. McDonald's seems like the go-to stop on the way in the event we get there and can't find any free locations. At least we can park the car with some limited charge then.

Ah that’s a shame. We have decided to take my car instead just to take the stress out of it but hopefully everywhere will be better equipped for EV’s soon.
The services we stopped at in Rugby at the weekend were brilliant, they had so many chargers!

Here’s a video talking about some of the matters in my post the other day. This is real world ‘worst case’ in terrible weather. You could probably get 50 more miles out of it in decent weather. The standard M 3 is excellent.

Also see here:

If the size and boot suits, this has to be the best value EV on the market. You’ll see on the second video in 5 degrees he’s getting 230 miles in real world which is amazing really. Based on that I’d maybe expect 260+ in summer.

baggies's Reviews

I dont have a Tesla, Instavolt is my go to chargers all I have used are 4+ usually next to a McD, Costa or similar. Having now done 4 holidays in it I have a plan A, B, C and D for each charge, and needed Plan D when going to St Ives, Cornwall.

ZapMap is my planner.

Instavolt, Osprey and Geniepoint (Morrisons especially) are my order of preference. BP Pulse I have very mixed experiences with chargers not working and never rely on them, will try but I always make sure I have a back up.

I've not used it for a flight yet, driving my sons gas guzzler for the next trip, but will probably use someone like purple parking who will do a charge for you, at some extortionate price but if it gets me home in one go it is worth it for me.

Anyone been recently and had to charge near the airport? We're going to have to take my EV to Gatwick. We'll need to charge around 80% I would estimate.
