We allow $50 a day per person, but never spend that much, we usually eat cereal/toast in the villa for breakfast, snacks for lunch aand then a meal out on way home from parks ( we don't buy meals in the parks)

Hi
We are staying for 14 nights and won’t be hiring a car due to costs at moment. So we will be eating mainly on I drive and a few nights city walk. |

We are a family of 7 (2 adults, 3 teens and 11 and 9 yr old)
We averaged $100 per ‘quick service’ at Disney and universal When we ate out at Olive Garden for example, the meals were plentiful and less than $150 with tip and drinks (we don’t drink alcohol) |

We were in Orlando over Christmas and the cost of food was a bit of a shock, we found it a lot more expensive and we ate offsite the whole time.
For 2 adults and one 16 year old: breakfast between $35-$40 lunch between $50-$80 dinner between $80-$360 ($360 was a meal at the Bull & Bear with tip!) |

If you aren’t big breakfast eaters, I’d suggest buying items to have in the room. When we go in August, I’m planning to take plastic bowls, plates and cutlery to use in the hotel room, and also take small boxes of cereal (we’ll get milk from the hotel shop). We’ll then budget about $250 a day for food and snacks (family of 4 with 2 teens).
When we were there at Christmas, a quick service lunch in the parks was around $70 and evening meal off site with tip was around $140.

My budget last month was $35/day (Disney, not Universal) but that was quick service meals only, no drinks and several kids meals or snacks instead of an adult meal. I would say $50 per person per day would be a good starting point but possibly more if you want a table service meal every day or drink alcohol.
If you don't plan on doing a grocery order, there's a 7-11 behind Dockside or the Walgreens across the road where you could grab some cheaper items than in the hotel shop. Especially things like bottled water or soft drinks which are ridiculously expensive onsite. But you can pack items for the room as well, things like cereal and biscuits are fine to go through customs and are cheaper here than there. Gives you spare room to pack souvenirs on the way back too. Edited at 02:03 PM. |

You're near I-Drive so very convenient for dining options and just lots of stuff to do. With shuttles to parks and a couple of Ubers a day and you really dont need a car. You'll save a ton given current car hire rates. Dining is obviously all about the kinds of places you like to eat, but realistically you should be able to do it for $200 per day, especially if you look for deals, and periodically buy food at a store and eat in your room or at the pool. I love pizza takeaway one evening and enjoy it poolside.
