Butter or margarine/spread ? Branded or own brand ?

So just made myself some toast using the own brand margarine we tend to get .

Just got me thinking ?
Do you pay the extra for butter rather than margarine /spread ?
Do you do branded or non-branded ?

For me it’s all pretty much of a muchness so happy to save the pennies for other things

What do you go for ?

Branded.. President or lurpack, or kerry gold.. Preferably the blocks no blended with oil nonsense! ♥

Spreads are vile on toast, they just make it wet, yuck.. Not too bad for a sandwich though.

Aldi Welsh salted butter was amazing, it’s no longer stocked in our store. They now have West Country Sea Salted butter which is lovely too.

I use Kerrygold spreadable butter (just pure butter, no added oils etc.), as it tastes fantastic, just like real butter but it is spreadable from the fridge.

I do really like Lurpak and President too.

Lurpack, Anchor or M and S own. I have never bought margarine since we found some in father in laws fridge when we cleared the house, it was 4 years out of date and looked completely normal.

I visited Van Den Berghs margarine factory during my early days in the Oleochemical industry. It put me firmly in the butter camp for life. It was a running joke among the staff in the margarine warehouse that even the rats wouldn't eat it
