Flights from 3rd party websites

Noticed there are various 3rd party websites selling flights from shanghai to japan that are cheaper than the airlines own websites, netflights, trip and Expedia to name a few.

Would you book direct with the airlines themselves to avoid any issues,?

I've used all three for different trips over the years and had no issues.

I personally would book with the airlines directly. For peace of mind and so that it's easier to talk to the airlines if I need to.

Whilst if all things are equal, I will book directly with the airline (or a code share partner if cheaper), I would have no qualms booking through a major search engine in the event that it is a better price.

I have never encountered problems as of yet and usually, it has been Google Flights.

Decided to book with virgin using multi city option and miles
Flying from Shanghai to South Korea have a couple of days there then fly onto Tokyo.

14000 miles and £28 each

Linked up to korean airlines website. Does automatic check in 2 days before flying and emails the boarding pass
