New VGF DVC- Very Disappointing

Basically just hotel rooms. No kitchen, microwave or Murphy bed if I’m understanding it correctly- just a sofabed?

Seems a big step back to just a standard timeshare. Maybe they thought they could increase ‘yield’ by having zero make your own food facilities?

I see people buying points here, which will be part of the original condo association, and then trying to book a traditional DVC room with the extra facilities, thereby placing more booking pressure on the traditional rooms which everyone will want unless these are cheaper points per night.

Also some photos of the refurb of the current villas here:

YT. Not very good if that is what they intend to deliver to the Members.

The Building they intend to convert is also not going to have it's own Reception area so I understand and will rely on the one in the existing DVC Building.

Seems a bit of a dogs dinner.

It’s not for me. We use the kitchenette a lot.

The "how cheaply can we do this" mantra currently running through WDW is getting more obvious by the day.

I actually wouldn't be mad if that was the new GF room as I think it's pretty but it makes no sense for VGF. It's just a straight retheme of the rooms it's replacing, at least stretch a few dollars for a kitchenette fitout.

Going to be interesting to see the Points usage per night difference between the existing stock and the newer addition.

I was thinking the same, basically a hotel refurb, sell as DVC (to the potential detriment of current owners who will now have a load of new owners battling for their kitchen studios) and make a lot of money?

I do think there are a lot of DVC owners who never use the kitchen and might prefer the 2 double beds set. I suspect as we stay for longer we are more likely to use the kitchen than someone on a weekend break.

Got to say I’m one of them we never use the kitchen so would prefer these rooms especially if they are less points.

It's very pretty - definitely prefer that décor to the current GFR scheme. I wonder if it is much of a saving - the lights, rug & TV look very high end - wonder what the bathroom looks like - could it be they are saving on the kitchenette but spending elsewhere?

We prefer the kitchenette, but I agree those staying for just a couple of days might prefer this set up with the two double beds. I know they are popular with many at OKW
