Air Passenger Duty Raise For Long Haul

Think I have read that the air passenger duty for long haul flights is due to increase next year to over £500 for long distance flights coming from the UK to places like Japan.

Rumoured to be increased even more in tomorrows budget, so lets see how it goes.

Could be time to book indirect flights to Japan via European hubs...

This may shed some light on the subject…

You had me momentarily worried. As I fly coach outwards, I will resign myself to paying an extra £2. I don’t envisage flying by private jet!

Anything over 5,500 miles was announced in the budget, but I don't know the cost as yet. So USA will be okay, but anyone going to the Far East will be hit. I think we will be trying to split the distance by going to the US first, then on to Japan.
