Struggling with Banking/Borrowing

I think my head is going to explode! My use year is October and we have a reservation for September. If I borrow 50percent of Oct 22 and if for some reason we have to cancel, what happens to the points. I believe borrowed points would go into present year, but if after banking deadline what happens then? Do they go into holding and would they have to be used by the end of September, which obviously won’t happen. Someone should write an idiots guide to DVC. Please help me get my head straight.

Once you have borrowed points that is final and they will stay in the use year they have been pulled into. So any points borrowed from Oct 2022 could potentially be used from October 2021 to Sept 2022 and would have to be used by Sept 2022.

If you are not sure if you are going to go then I definitely would not be borrowing points.

Under the "Covid" policy your points would return to their original UY but I have no idea if it's still in place therefore as above any points would remain in the UY they transferred into.
