You are incorrect ... try googling "acid attack" and see how many hits come up... then add "random " to the search . It's frightening how many reports there are.

Peaceful protest is a fundamental right within any democracy that wants that title.
Without protest, we'd still be criminalising the LGBT community.
Without protest, women would still be denied the vote.
Without protest, race relations would look like 1980s South Africa.
What was morally and ethically wrong about interrupting a speech to get a message across about climate change?
You know what would have happened had Field not acted the way he did?
Hammond's speech would've been delayed five or ten minutes, plod would have escorted the protesters away, one or two people would maybe have read the literature, the rest would have got a second drink and had a chuckle, and the news wouldn't have gave one hoot. And neither would any of the professionally offended on here.
Who was hurt? No one.
Who was threatened? No one.
How much money was lost? None.
How much disruption was caused to Joe Public? None.
They trespassed.
They got escorted out.
No police action was taken at the time, and no action has resulted.
Had Field not lost it, this wouldn't be an issue whatsoever.

I don't normally wade into these kind of discussions, but I am going to against my better judgement.

I am sorry that your daughter has had this experience, she sounds a strong and articulate young lady and I am glad that she is rising above it and being proactive in helping raise awareness.

With regards Chili-pepper. I wonder whether you might have perhaps linked to the wrong post in the first instance or perhaps misunderstood what Chili-pepper was saying ?

She was calling a comment that a previous poster had made disgusting and insensitive.
I concur.

I must admit I am surprised at the way that this discussion has gone, you are both on the same side!

So are you happy to be eating your dinner at home or be at work and be invaded by a "peaceful protest"?

Peaceful protests need to take place in public spaces. I am not sure how many times this needs to be explained.

It doesn't need explained, because your point is a massive stretch...
Protests need to target functions, lest they're not noticed.
Since when have Greenpeace protested in someone's home whilst they're having dinner? It's an absolutely ludicrous, preposterous false equivalency. It's a nonsense point.
How often would you like it explained that protests only target government or industry functions and events?

Was that anger or fear? My husband was in a shop once when someone tried to rob the till. The cctv afterwards, my husband looked as mad as hell, but he wasnt, he was just scared.

I guess we are just going to have to agree to disagree on what is acceptable and what isn't.
