Just ordered my dd's dress and its £365. Think that's about average for 'prom dress shops'.
The shop we bought from wont let someone else from her school buy the same dress.

They dont have to spend that much. Dd actually really liked one at Boundary Mill that was £20! It was actually me that said I wanted her to get a more expensive one! It was s lovely dress and if I had been struggling it would have been fine!

Cheaper options are available. Quiz have some in now. TK maxx tend to have lots in around Feb half term but may be some now. |

I think our daughters outfit (needed shoes and bag to match) ended up being about £350
It's been used a few times since as well Some of her friends spent well over 500 on the dress alone It's turned into madness - but like most things you don't want them to be the only one not doing it the same as their mates - and unlike Florida it is only once. ! |

I work in boundary mill and not long back we had a little mistress section and prom dresses flew out, some of them were stunning and a real bargain because they were previous seasons I think but still stunning, they are trying to get a younger market in store and have coast now too which have lovely dresses that would suit proms.

£200 from Naked Dresses online. My DD wanted something that wasn’t too prom like - hers was more like a sleek evening dress

My daughters prom was a few years back now but her dress she ordered online from boohoo, they used to have a prom section online don't know if they still do, hers was a bargain at less than £50, it cost a lot more for everything else that went with it like shies, bag, jewellery, hair etc etc

I get to escape this! My daughter is adamant that if she goes to the prom, it will be in her regular clothes! She hates dressing up for any occasion and refuses to wear dresses. The school thankfully don't have a dress code for prom. I've made several suggestions - jumpsuit, trouser suit etc and she has rejected them all. She doesn't care what her peers will say, and will do it her own way.

Plenty of cheaper options out there like Quiz , Boohoo , TKMaxx etc
Prom shop we used did a thing there you could pay weekly / monthly etc and start that Upto 2 years before your prom , so you didn’t have to pay out a big chunk in one go . Also by doing this you got alterations for free . But prom isn’t a surprise , you know it’s coming at the end of YR11 so plenty of time to save . |
