Glad that it looks to be sorted for you! I agree that YOUR choice of hotel is more important than where Disney has them in the hierarchy.

This is also why I am uncomfortable with the new system Disney has in place of offering the 5th sleepers as a booking option at a higher rate. I have one booked for our holiday next year, because that was all that is available for my dates. There are only 4 of us so we have technically removed one room from the pool of options for families who really need it. Or in this case, who booked the room before booking the 5th sleeper was even an option.

Having stayed at both PORS and CBR last year we would choose Riverside over CBR next time. Riverside is a very attractive resort with plenty to do for youngsters. Our ds's loved catching the boat down to Disney springs. Also we found the food court better at Riverside over the new one at CBR.

We've stayed at both too and surprised ourselves by preferring CBR. It's very subjective, but I'd be happy to stay at either.

At least it's all sorted for the OP now and she'd getting the holiday she chose and planned

Terrible treatment in the first place I’m glad you’ve been sorted out. Just to reassure you though if they don’t pull it off. I’ve stayed at both resorts. It’s all very subjective but apart from theme they’re ‘on paper’ pretty identical. Rooms same size. Same facilities. Pull down beds the same size and feel. Both have great large pools and many small quiet pools. POR has the boat to Disney Springs and Caribbean Beach has little small bits of beach. My personal favourite my a mile out of the two is POR but that’s subjective. Staying there would not ruin your trip though, just as staying at Caribbean Beach for a change didn’t ruin mine. Have a great trip.

Thank you all. I know we would have been fine at riverside but we chose cbr because it has more facilities that we will make use of and a lot is down to the general theme of the whole resort. We love the Caribbean style. When we stayed at fq we used the boat a lot but last time staying at ssr we only went on twice so it really wasn’t a selling point to us. We rarely eat at the hotel so not bothered about the food we like to try lots of places so will usually eat at the parks before going back for an afternoon break and then we go out to eat again in the evening. Everyone is different and we all like different things, I think in circumstances like these there should be at least 2 alternatives offered because I really don’t like being told that’s where your staying, paying the amount we do we should have some say in it!
