Whilst I’m not naive & know things happen in the parks that no one wants to see & Disney especially don’t want people to see but they should be prepared for any eventuality with the amount of people they get through the gates a day.
Terrible that security were not at the scene within seconds to escort the people out of the park before it escalated the way it did.

I noticed the child hitting as well and copying the behaviour, poor kid being brought up in that environment.

See my post, sent to me from a friend in the States from their newpapers :
'Disney visitor tries to break up brawl in DL' nothing was done by the police at the time as they had not seen the video, now they have it will probably go to court.

I wonder why nothing was done by the police at the time because they had various cast members that witnessed most, if not all, of it and could have given statements and what about cctv? I think it was also a visitor that called the police as you can hear a woman calling what I assume to be them.
Disney obviously don't like this sort of attention but their cast members witnessed a brutal fight that included violence against women and child abuse (witnessing domestic abuse is child abuse) and it looks to me that they just hoped it would blow over and that is very wrong when kids are involved. I also know a lot of people say just standing back with your mobile and not intervening is wrong but many people would have just have put themselves in harms way with this.

Won’t it need someone to press charges? Can’t see that happening with it being family so it’ll probably be a caution or something

In the UK and if tasked with investigating this, I would look to charge with S2 ‘Violent disorder’. I feel that the ‘risk’ to others, particularly demonstrated by the mobility scooter part warrants such a charge.
Violent disorder is a statutory offence in England and Wales. It is created by section 2(1) of the Public Order Act 1986. Sections 2(1) to (4) of that Act provide: (1) Where 3 or more persons who are present together use or threaten unlawful violence and the conduct of them (taken together) is such as would cause a person of reasonable firmness present at the scene to fear for their personal safety, each of the persons using or threatening unlawful violence is guilty of violent disorder. (2) It is immaterial whether the 3 or more use or threaten unlawful violence simultaneously. (3) No person of reasonable firmness need actually be, or be likely to be, present at the scene. (It can be a hypothetical third person, thus removing the need for an active complainant/witness). (4) Violent disorder may be committed in private as well as in public places. This offence carries a maximum sentence of imprisonment, not exceeding 5 years and is triable either way. I would then anticipate an offer of a guilty plea to an offence of ‘Affray’ cont to S3. This is another offence where the person ‘in fear’ can be hypothetical, thus removing the need for an actual complainant.

Does anyone know if there’s any fresh news on this? I keep thinking about it - the poor kids involved, and others just having s good time and having to see this carnage. Horrible for all concerned - I hope they get what’s coming to them, all of them.
