Shopping in Florida isn't that much different to shopping in England.

Outlets are similar to outlets in England and some products are specifically made to be sold in outlet stores and are different to the items sold in retail stores.

Malls are ordinary retail shopping centers, sometimes things are on sale, sometimes not.

There's nothing magical or predictable about getting the best value for your money, it's just a case of being at the right place at the right time. That being said, very few locals shop at the outlets in Orlando, who's prices are geared towards what tourists are happy to pay. On the whole the further you get from tourist areas the better values you get.

I find it's better to hit the outlets when they open - the shelves & racks are fully stocked and tidy. By late afternoon they look like a charity shop due to thousands of people having a rummage and just putting stuff back any old how !

It's worth checking the mall and outlet directories to see which has your sort of store before you decide.

This should be highlighted for everyone who wastes good holiday time buying seconds and last years unsold stock.

Yes I have to agree that was my thinking tbh but I don't know that I would ever go looking for bargains further a field as when my DW & I first visited in 1999 for our honeymoon, we were travelling to Busch Gardens & didn't have a clue where we were going because the map was so small and out of sync, the sky turned black the heavens opened, so I decided to pull into a gas station, we felt intimidated as there was loads of bungalows with 6' fences & razor wire & every door had a locked metal gate in front of their front door, looked very much like a clip from boyz in the hood. Told my DW to lock the doors on the car as I ran like linford Christie into the GS then two 7ft plus coloured guys came in and all the bad thoughts of America came flooding through my mind lol. tbh it's what impression you get from the films and my mind was on overtime but tbh if you don't know where you are going I'm guessing it could end up like a film.

We laugh about it now but obviously didn't at the time, I always stick to the main routes now
