There is street artists and singers, we often sat and watched these and mooched around the shops. TREX and Rainforest Café were brilliant and I've heard good things about Earl of Sandwich!
We go there at least three times every holiday usually during the day although we haven't been since it was fully complete.

Obviously you're not forced to spend a single $ in the shops and restaurants. We rarely do apart from an ice cream or milk shake from Ghirardelli in summer (or a hot chocolate in winter ) and usually a visit to EoS which you must do.

Waiting to see what the completed DS looks like, but did seem like the new shops and restuarant were quite pricey. On the other hand, there are more reasonable existing options for food... and the various Disney shops/boutiques in the Marketplace are still worth a visit surely.

And to second Mick's suggestion, a visit to Ghirardelli's for a nice ice cream sundae is IMO obligatory.

Agree that can get very busy at night but do really like it. Can recommend food and atmosphere at Splitsville and House of Blues but agree that some of the restaraunts are very expensive. Just another vote for the poutine kiosk - my wife had a purse full of lose change and i must confess we are useless, still, at distinguishing us coins but the lady behind the counter was incredibly helpful and patient in helping us count it out. Must stress that she had actually volunteered to help us use our change up!

I agree, the new Disney Springs can be expensive to shop and eat at, however, in it's revised form it has a lovely atmosphere and lots of excellent free entertainment to enjoy even if you just wander around and soak up the atmosphere which we thoroughly enjoyed doing last year.

Great Disney Shop, have an ice cream from Ghirardelli and T rex is an experience as is the Rainforest cafe.
