A mixed bag of replies. For us we go every trip, and matt987106 hit the nail on the head, there are 3 or 4 main 'game plans' people have when going to the party.
For us, seeing the fireworks and parade is the highlight (if you think Wishes is good, when they let off the 180 degree 'surround' fireworks, it beats it hands down), the candy is a bonus but you can buy it cheaper anywhere else, and if you see a quiet line then nip in to get some, don't queue up wasting time. Dressing up is also fun as it gets you and people around you in the spirit, people and CMs commenting on your outfits brings a smile to your face. Plus you have to ride HM as well just to see how much fun the CMs there have on the nights
